| 2. | Press out the bearing race with
        
         87 91 311 Sleeve, driver shaft bearing

    | 1. | Turn the gearcase and fit the bearing race with a plastic hammer. Press in the new bearing race until it stops with
       
        Drift,
       
       83 90 312. Use tool 87 91 188 as
       
        Support. | |
| Replacement of input shaft bearing race | 
 
   
   To remove
| 1. | Remove the 4 bolts from the seal retainer. Keep the seal retainer, bolts and shims. | |
| 2. | Press out the bearing race with
       
        Drift, differential bearing seal
       
       87 90 800 and tool 87 92 236 as
       
        Support
       
       .   | |
To fit
 
   
   | 1. | Turn the gearcase and fit the bearing race in position using a plastic hammer. | |
| 2. | Then press down the bearing race using
       
        Sleeve
       
       87 92 202 and
       
        Support, removal of pinion shaft
       
       87 91 188 until the tool bottoms against the gearcase. | |
| 3. | Fit the bearing retainer with a nominal shims combination of 1.5 mm. Tighten down the bearing race alternately with the bearing retainer. Tightening torque 38 Nm (28 lbf ft) | |
| Bushings for selector shafts in gearcase | 
 
   
   To remove
| Important | ||
| Bushes should be tapped out before the gearcase is washed as the detergent can destroy the surface of the bushes. | ||
| 1. | Tap carefully using
       
        Drift, selector rod bush
       
       87 91 238 and remove the three bushes from the gearcase and the bush for the selector shaft from the clutch housing. | |
To fit
 
   
   | Important | ||
| The reverse selector shaft has no bush in the gearcase. | ||
| 1. | The bushes are carefully tapped in using a
       
        Drift, selector rod bush
       
       87 91 238. | |
| Sintered plug, bleeding | 
 
   
   To remove
| 1. | Tap out the sintered plug from the gearcase using a drift from the outside. | |
To fit
 
   
   | 1. | Carefully tap in a new sintered plug from the mating surface (the sintered plug is tapered).
