O-ring and sealing ring in seal retainer, left-hand

To remove


Removed gearbox


1. Undo the five bolts on the seal retainer and remove the seal retainer. Keep shims, bolts and the seal retainer in a safe place.

2. Press out the sealing ring using 87 91 311 Sleeve, driver shaft bearing and support 87 92 236 .

3. Detach the O-ring with a small screwdriver or similar.



To fit


1. Press on the seal ring with drift 87 92 657 until it stops. Use tool 87 92 236 as support.


2. Lubricate a new O-ring and carefully fit it.


3. Fit the seal retainer and shims with the bolts. Tighten alternately.


Tightening torque 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)
