Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery.
A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.

The SRS control module of certain cars is incorrectly programmed.
| Parts required |
50 44 839 SRS control module.
| Procedure |
Inspect box D1 of the modification identity plate before proceeding. New modification indentity plate must be fitted as described in SI 801-2332. Continue as follows if the box has not been marked.

If necessary, remove the cup holder in the centre console.

| 2. |
Use removal tool, part no. 82 93 474, and insert the tool right under the upper portion of the centre console's back section. Press the back section up to open the lock.

| 3. |
Lift up the console's back section and move it to the side so that the SRS control module is visible.
|

| 4. |
Using a torch, read the serial number on the label located on the top of the SRS control module.

| 5. |
Check the last 7 digits of the bottom row (The row of numbers closest to the front).

| 6. |
If the numbers match any of the serial numbers in the list of faulty SRS control modules, the unit must be replaced. See WIS 9-5 - M-02 - 8. Body - Airbag (SRS) - Adjust, replace - SRS control module.
If the numbers do not match any of the serial numbers in the list of faulty SRS control modules, continue as follows. Fit the back section and any cup holder.

| Marking the modification identity plate |
Upon completion of the procedure, mark box D1 of the modification identity plate (a new, additional modification identity plate is required, see SI 801-2332). If the procedure was carried out by the importer, mark the box with a "7"; if it was carried out by the dealer, mark the box with an "8".
