Airbag warning lamp
Airbag warning lamp |
System faults are indicated by the airbag warning lamp in the main instrument display panel lighting up and remaining on.
Under normal function, the SRS control module sends a message on the I-bus to switch off the airbag warning lamp. If this message is not received, the MIU lamp lights. In certain cases, SRS can also send an ignition message on the bus. This is to light the lamp as quickly as possible.
The car is equipped with a central warning lamp which the MIU ((Main Instrument Unit) lights up together with the airbag warning lamp.
When the ignition key is switched to the start or driving position, the Airbag warning lamp lights for 3-4 seconds and then goes out, providing there are no DTCs stored.
If diagnostic trouble codes are stored in the memory, the lamp lights up for 3-4 seconds and then goes out for half a second, following which it comes on and remains on continuously until the ignition is switched off or the diagnostic trouble codes are erased.
If an airbag or seat-belt tensioner has been triggered, the airbag warning lamp will remain on continuously.
