Calibrating

Calibrating

The stepping motors do not require a feed-back coupling to the control module (position sensor). By sending a known number of pulses, the control module always knows how far the flap has moved. This is possible on condition that the control module has calibrated itself by turning the flap to its respective end positions so that it knows the position of the flap.

Calibration is done by starting the engine and simultaneously pressing the AUTO and OFF buttons. Calibration takes about 30 seconds. Calibration must be performed if the battery has been disconnected/discharged, if the ACC unit or a stepping motor have been replaced or its position changed.

Calibration is also automatic directly following engine start in the following cases:

new ACC fitted

+30 supply was cut earlier than 10 minutes after the ignition was last turned off (usually in connection with battery replacement).

Diagnostics

While calibrating, the number of stored diagnostic trouble codes is displayed instead of the left-hand temperature. Diagnostic trouble codes 0-23 are displayed for 3 seconds each instead of the right-hand temperature.
