Headlamp housing, upper mounting


1. If required, remove the glass.

2. Protect the reflector from dust and dirt.

3. Identify the type of plastic. See or

4. Select the correct welding filler and set the temperature of the welding gun so that it agrees with the type of plastic. See

5. Secure the damaged area and tack using the tack welding tip on the welding gun.


6. Heat and right the lobe. Tack it with the welding gun.


7. Check the stamp on the headlamp housing and refer to the welding rod table to ensure you choose the correct welding filler. See .


Weld the lobe in place

8. Then weld the other joints around the upper mounting.


9. Allow the weld to cool.

10. Grind the welds if required.


11. If necessary remove any burrs from the joint using a welding gun and, if needed, a small screwdriver.


Remove any groves left after grinding by rapidly heating the repaired area with the welding gun set to a temperature approx. 25°C above the stipulated welding temperature.
