The twin seatbelt buckle in the rear seat has been incorrectly assembled by our supplier.
Symptom description
It can be difficult to return the seat cushion, on the 60% side of a 60/40 split rear seat, into position.

46 85 665 Nut
Inspect box C1 of the modification identity plate before proceeding. Continue as follows if the box has not been marked.

Raise the rear seat cushions.
|
2.
|
Check the seatbelt buckle.
|
3.
|
Is the seatbelt buckle correct?
YES: No action required. Lower the rear seat cushions and mark the modification identity plate.
NO: Continue with To remove.
|
1.
|
Remove the upholstery hooks located by the outer lower edge of the backrests and lower the backrests.
|
2.
|
Release the catch for the 40% backrest and pull the backrest upwards. Lift out the 40% backrest.
|
3.
|
Release the catch for the 60% backrest. Pull the backrest upwards pulling the end shaft retaining the backrest out of the centre floor mounting. Lift out the 60% backrest.
|
4.
|
Remove the 3 clips securing the luggage compartment carpeting.
|
5.
|
Lift up the carpeting covering the twin seatbelt buckle.
|
6.
|
Remove the seatbelt buckle unit.
|
Note
|
Use a new nut. Applicable only to the type 46 85 665 nut.
|
1.
|
Fit a new seatbelt buckle unit with the new nut.
Tightening torque 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)
Fit the 2 small nuts.
|
2.
|
Refit the carpeting and fit the 3 clips. If the clips are damaged, use new clips. Make sure the anti-submarining hooks protrude from their holes in the carpeting.
|
3.
|
Lift in the 60% backrest and insert the end of the shaft into the centre floor mounting. Press down the outside edge of the backrest making sure the catch engages. Lift in the 40% backrest and insert the shaft into the backrest's centre hinge. Press down the outside edge of the backrest making sure the catch engages.
Note

Check that the middle seatbelt runs in front of the shaft and backrest.

Fit the upholstery hooks located by the outer lower edge of the backrests. Make sure the backrests lock into position.
|
5.
|
Lower the rear seat cushions.
|
6.
|
Check the operation of both seatbelt buckles.
|
Marking the modification identity plate
|
On completion of the necessary measures, mark box C1 on the modification identity plate. If the work was carried out by the importer, mark the box with a "7". If done by a dealer, mark it with an "8".
