Background |
The calibration for the V6 diesel Engine management system has been improved in a number of areas, including:
- turbo speed control
- EGR Diagnostics
- fuel shut-off function
- cylinder pressure control
- reduced limit for coking protection
To reduce the engine's oil temperature the parameters for coolant temperature in ACC and DICE are changed. Parameter change is also carried out in MIU so that the correct temperature is displayed.

Before proceeding, check box D5 (M02), or A5 (M03), of the modification identity plate. If necessary, a new modification identity plate must be fitted (applies only to M02), see "Fitting a new modification identity plate". If the box is not marked, proceed as follows.

Spare Part Programming" of ACC, follow the instructions in Tech 2.

Spare Part Programming" of DICE, follow the instructions in Tech 2.

Spare Part Programming" of MIU, follow the instructions in Tech 2.

Marking the modification identity plate |
After carrying out the procedure, box D5 (M02) or A5 (M03) on the modification identity plate must be marked. Mark the box with the number "7" if the procedure was carried out by the importer or with the number "8" if carried out by the dealer.
Fitting a modification identity plate (M02)

Open the boot lid and hang up the floor panel.
5D: Lift up the trim above the spare wheel and hook it securely to the luggage compartment hatch. |

To obtain a radius, bend the modification identity plate by pressing the plate against the sill slightly.

Clean the surface of the body using Teroson FL T875. Remove the plastic backing from the rear of the plate.

Press the modification plate securely into place as per the illustration.

Press the modification plate securely into place as per the illustration. Replace the trim above the spare wheel.

Close the floor panel and the boot lid.
