Symptom: CHECK ENGINE.
Fuel Temperature Sensor Circuit. Open Circuit/Short to B+.

Battery voltage should be 10.2-15.8 V.

The coolant temperature should be over 20 °C.

|
P0116, P0117 or P0118 should not be detected.
|
Fault criteria:

|
Voltage on input exceeds 4.974 V for more than 3.0 s.
|
Dependents:
System reaction to a fault:
-
|
The control module will continue to work with a substitute value of 25 °C.
|
OK report:
-
|
Voltage on input falls below 4.974 V for more than 3.0 s.

Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
