| Important | ||
| The cables must not be twisted. Twisted cables exposed to vibration can break. | ||
| The oxygen sensor is sensitive to impacts and jolting and must be handled with care. | ||
| 1. | Remove the engine cover.   | |
| 2. | Unplug the crankshaft position sensor connector from its mounting to gain access to the oxygen sensor connector. | |
| 3. | Unplug the oxygen sensor connector from its mounting and separate it. | |
| 4. | Withdraw the oxygen sensor's connector and cable, taking care to avoid breaking same.   | |
| 5. | Remove the oxygen sensor. | |

| Coat the oxygen sensor threads sparingly with Molycote 1000, part no. 30 20 971. | 
| 1. | Fit the oxygen sensor. Tightening torque: 55 Nm (40.5 lbf ft). | |
| 2. | Carefully thread the cable back to the oxygen sensor connector. | |
| 3. | Fit the oxygen sensor connector to the mounting. | |
| 4. | Fit the crankshaft position sensor connector to the mounting. | |
| 5. | Fit the engine cover. | |
