Fault symptoms

•	CHECK ENGINE on. Not possible to regulate engine speed. Idling speed set to 1400 rpm.

Conditions

The following conditions apply for this DTC:

•	DTC generated when the voltage difference at end pedal position is greater than 1.0 V between pedal position sensors 1 and 2 for more than 0.5 seconds (Pedal position sensor 2: voltage x 2). Fault criteria not fulfilled for P1636, P1637, P1638 or P1639.

Diagnostic help

The pedal position sensors can be read using the diagnostic tool. Pedal position sensor 2 has the same power supply as the atmospheric pressure sensor.
