Temperature/pressure sensor, intake manifold
The pressure and temperature sensor mounted on the intake manifold informs the engine control module of existing pressure in the intake manifold and the temperature of incoming air.
The connections for the pressure sensor are:
1.
Power supply: Pin 3 of the sensor is connected to pin 39 of the engine control module
2.
Sensor ground: Pin 1 of the sensor is connected to pin 46 of the engine control module
3.
Signal, pressure in intake manifold: Pin 4 of the sensor is connected to pin 9 of the engine control module
4.
Signal, temperature: Pin 2 of the sensor is connected to pin 22 of the engine control module.
The pressure sensor is a piezoresistive sensor with its own electronics for signal amplification and temperature compensation. The electronics are all semi-conductor type integrated on a chip, which bends due to changes in pressure and in this way allows more or less current to pass.
The temperature sensor is mounted in such a way that the incoming air mass flows over it. The sensor is of type NTC.
If the difference between the boost pressure sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor is more than 0.225 bar for more than 3 seconds, DTC P0106 is generated.
If the signal on the control module sensor input is less than 0.4 V for more than 0.6 seconds, DTC P0107 is generated.
If the signal on the control module sensor input is more than 4.7 V for more than 0.6 seconds, DTC P0108 is generated.
If the pressure sensor input is shorted to ground, DTC P0112 is generated.
If the pressure sensor input is shorted to B+, DTC P0113 is generated.
