Probable cause of fault

The main unit is not properly inserted in the radio compartment.

The antenna cable is poorly connected into the radio compartment/main unit.

Poor coaxial cable connection.

|
The antenna amplifier's power supply (trigger voltage) or ground connection is faulty.

Break in glass antenna (rear window) 4D, or rear side window 5D.
|

Bad connection between the antenna amplifier and glass antenna.

Diagnostic help
Note that the glass-mounted mobile phone antenna on the rear window can cause a deterioration in radio reception.
Checking the wiring harness
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to check if there are intermittent breaks and short-circuits in the leads. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic instrument during the test.
