To remove



1. Raise the car and remove the wheel.

2. Press in the brake piston with a pair of slip-joint pliers.

3. Depress the brake pedal slightly, using a brake pedal clamp.


4. Remove fuse number 1.

5. Detach the brake hose from the brake caliper. Plug the hose and the caliper.


6. Remove the two brake caliper retaining bolts and lift off the caliper.


To fit



1. Fit the brake caliper in place. Apply 74 96 268 Thread locking adhesive and tighten the two retaining bolts.

Tightening torque: 140 Nm +45° (103 lbf ft 45°)

2. Fit the brake hose to the brake caliper and tighten to torque.

Tightening torque 40 Nm (29 lbf ft)

Important

Make sure not to twist the hose while fitting.


3. Remove the brake pedal clamp and put back the fuse.

4. Fit the wheel; see Wheels .

Tightening torques

aluminium wheel 110 Nm (81 lbf ft)

steel wheel 50 Nm +2x90°, max. 110 Nm (37 lbf ft +2x90°, max. 81 lbf ft)

5. Lower the car and depress the brake pedal to press out the brake pistons. Check the brake fluid level and top up as necessary.
