Unplug the connector from the level sensor in the brake fluid reservoir.
|

Remove the battery cover and the battery.
|
4.
|
V6 diesel engine:
Remove the turbocharger heat shield.
|
5.
|
Remove the main fuse box and place it to one side.
|
7.
|
Place paper towelling or a rag under the master cylinder to collect any spilt fluid.
|
8.
|
Manual gearbox:
Disconnect the clutch fluid hose from the brake fluid reservoir.
|
9.
|
Fit the reservoir cap and withdraw the reservoir straight upwards.

Manual gearbox:
If changing the brake fluid reservoir, cut off the top of the reservoir's hose connection.

|
Fit the reservoir onto the master cylinder. Lubricate the connections with brake grease 49 04 108 to facilitate fitting.
|
3.
|
Manual gearbox:
Connect the clutch fluid hose to the brake fluid reservoir. Fit the hose clip facing upwards.
|
5.
|
Plug in the level sensor's connector and return the main fuse box to its original position.
|
6.
|
Fill up with brake fluid.
|
7.
|
Check the system for leakage.
|
9.
|
Fit the main fuse box in place.
|
10.
|
V6 diesel engine:
Fit the turbocharger heat shield.
|
11.
|
Fit the battery and the battery cover.
|
