On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
-
|
Battery voltage should be 10.2-15.8 V.
|
-
|
1636 or 1637 should not be detected.
|
Fault criteria:
-
|
Voltage on input exceeds 4.90V for more than 2.1s.
|
Dependents:
System reaction to a fault:
-
|
The control module will continue to use a substitute value for the fuel pressure that is the same as the calculated. The following limitations apply: Boost pressure control switched off.
|
OK report:
-
|
Voltage on input falls below 4.90V for more than 2.1s.
|
Fault handling:

Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an electrical fault in connecting leads or in the sensor.
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
-
|
Read value:
Requested VNT Position,
Actual VNT Position,
Charge Air Absolute Pressure
|
See also description of read value under
"Read Values" menu
for more information.
Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
