Bleeding fuel lines, 4-cyl

Use the following method to expedite bleeding of the fuel system when air has gotten in, during the filter replacement, etc. or when the fuel lines on the feed side have been removed.

Be particulary observant regardning cleanliness when working on the fuel system. Loss of function may occur due to very small particles. Prevent dirt and grime from entering the fuel system by cleaning the connections and plugging pipes and lines during disassembly. Use 82 92 948 Plugs, A/C system assembly. Keep components free from contaminants during storage.

Suction until a constant flow of fuel is visible in the suction line.

Remove the bleed nipple from the service outlet while it is still suctioning (to avoid fuel spill and air entering the system).

4.
|
Put on the protective cap for the service outlet.
|
5.
|
Start the engine and perform a functionality check for leaks, etc.
