Checking main relay shut-off
|
When the engine control module gives the command that the main relay is to be switched off, a clock in the control module is started to measure the time from when the shut-off command is given to the main relay to when the main relay actually switches off.
If one of the following DTCs is generated, CHECK ENGINE will light the next time the ignition key is switched to the ON position.

|
The time between the command and relay shut-off is greater than 3 seconds. This indicates that the relay is defective; DTC P1652 is generated.

The power supply is interrupted during operation. DTC P1653 is generated.
