Speed, lead from ABS


The ABS control module sends a speed signal to the PSG 16 control module on pin K34. This signal is a square wave that varies between 0 V and B+ 29 times per wheel rotation. The speed signal is used to:


• determine which gear is currently in use. This makes it possible for the engine to receive the correct fuel quantity at different gear positions when the accelerator is released.

• Give impulses to cruise control.

• activate speed limitation by choking fuel quantity/combustion at 225 km/h





Diagnosis


• If the speed signal exceeds 220 km/h, is constantly high/low or is incorrect, DTC P0500 is generated.



System reaction to a fault

• Cruise control is switched off.

• ACC is switched off.

• Speedometer is not operational.
