Cooling, V6

The turbocharger is water cooled to keep its temperature down and reduce the risk of oil deposits. The water lines are connected to the engine block and heating system.

When the engine is running, the engine's regular water pump is used. When the engine is switched off and engine temperature is above 100°C, the electric circulation pump that is part of the heating system is run for 15 seconds.

If the temperature is 107°C, the pump is run for 120 seconds. The circulation pump is controlled by the ACC. Between 100 and 107°C, the running time of the pump is increases linearly between 15 and 120 seconds. The turbocharger is cooled in this way to reduce the engine oil deposits.
