Steering swivel member

To remove


1. Remove the front wheel hub as described under To remove .

2. Remove the wheel sensor.


3. Undo the nut securing the track-rod end and withdraw the track-rod end using 87 91 287 Puller, 150 mm .

4. Remove the steering swivel member from the MacPherson strut. Hold the bolt steady and undo the nut.

Tap out the bolt. Use a new bolt on reassembly.

Note

The bolts have splines and must not be turned.



To fit


1. Fit the steering swivel member to the MacPherson strut with new bolts. Hold the bolt steady and turn the nut.

Note

The bolts have splines and must not be turned.


Tightening torque 100 Nm +90° (74 lbf ft +90°)


2. Fit the track-rod end.

Tightening torque 35 Nm (26 lbf ft)


3. Fit the front wheel hub, refer to To fit .
