Tailgate lock motor, 5D

To remove


1. Open the tailgate.


2. Remove the inner tailgate trim by removing the door pull retaining screws and the plastic clips in the trim.

3. Lift off the tailgate trim as described below:

3.a. Pull down the top of the trim to release it from the clips.

3.b. Pull back on the trim to release the guide pin at the door pull, taking care not to break it.


4. Pull out the centre pin in the driver and pull off the driver. Allow the driver to hang on the lock rod.


5. Undo the lock motor retaining screws and unplug the connector.

6. Lower the motor slightly and turn it so that it comes loose from the driver.


Note

Turn it carefully so that the pin on the driver does not break.


7. Remove the lock motor.


To fit


1. Turn the motor so that it connects with the driver pin.


2. Screw on the motor and plug in the connector.

3. Press on the driver and lock it with the centre pin.

4. Fit the inner trim by inserting the guide pin at the door pull and fastening with the clips at the edge of the window. Screw in the two door pull screws. Fasten the remaining clips around the trim.
