Replacement of rear upper protective shell 5D

To remove


1. Open the tailgate

2. N/A Aero M04- : Remove the protective corner mouldings.


3. Undo the screws securing the upper protective shell.

4. Detach the lower edge of the protective shell by loosening the clips.

5. Bend in the corner of the protective shell slightly and loosen it by pulling straight back.


6. For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA): Detach the contacts from the sensors.



To fit


1. For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA): Attach the contacts to the sensors.


2. Fit the protective shell by guiding the flaps in towards the bolts in the front edge.

For cars equipped with Saab Parking Assistance (SPA): Make sure that the sensors fit correctly in the bumper cavity.


3. Guide the shell into the side track. Make sure that the corner of the protective shell does not damage the paintwork.

4. Press the corner of the protective shell into place.


5. Insert the flaps so that they fit at the bolts.

6. Press the clips into the bottom edge of the protective shell. Check the fit.

7. Press down the protective shell while tightening the bolts.

8. N/A Aero M04- : Fit the protective corner mouldings.

9. Close the tailgate and check the fit.
