To remove |
1. |
Undo the cap on the expansion tank and remove the battery cover.

2. |
Raise the car and remove the lower engine cover and front spoiler plate.
|
3. |
Place a suitable receptacle under the car and drain the cooling system.
|
4. |
Disconnect the charge air pipe from the charge air cooler.
|
5. |
Lower the car and remove the intake pipe from between the mass air flow sensor and turbocharger.
|
6. |
Remove the upper engine cover.
|
7. |
Remove the charge air hose and pipe from the upper intake manifold.
|
8. |
Remove the upper radiator hose.
|
9. |
Remove the bolt securing the dipstick pipe to the lifting eye.
|
10. |
Remove the lower bolt and remove the upper bolt securing the lifting eye. Move aside the lifting eye.

11. |
Unplug the connectors and remove the fan cowling.

To fit |
1. |
Move aside the lifting eye and fit the fan cowling.
|
2. |
Fit the upper bolt securing the lifting eye and secure the dipstick pipe to the lifting eye.

3. |
Plug in the fan connectors. Connect the radiator hose.
|
4. |
Lower the charge air pipe and connect it to the upper intake manifold.
|
5. |
Raise the car.
|
6. |
Fit the charge air pipe to the charge air cooler.
|
7. |
Check that the drain cock is closed.
|
8. |
Fit the lower engine cover and front spoiler plate. Lower the car.
|
9. |
Fit the upper engine cover.
|
10. |
Fit the intake pipe between the mass air flow sensor and turbocharger.
Tightening torque, mass air flow sensor: 3.5 Nm (2.5 lbf ft) |
11. |
Fit the battery cover.

12. |
Fill with coolant and bleed the cooling system as described under
Bleeding the cooling system.
