Radiator, 4-cyl

To remove


1. Undo the cap on the expansion tank.

2. Raise the car.

3. Remove the lower engine cover.


4. Remove the front spoiler shield.

5. Put a suitable receptacle in place and drain the coolant.

6. Loosen the charge air hose from the charge air pipe.

7. Close the coolant drain cock.

8. Lower the car.

9. Remove the upper engine cover.


10. Remove the charge air hose from the charge air pipes.


11. Remove the upper coolant hose from the radiator and thermostat housing.

12. Loosen the charge air pipe from the fan cowling and remove the pipe.

13. Remove the battery cover, the battery cover, fuse board and battery tray.


14. Remove the charge air pipe from the throttle body and move it aside.


15. Remove the lower coolant hose and bleed hose from the radiator.


16. Detach the fan connectors from the fan cowling.

17. Remove the fan cowling bolts from the radiator.

18. Remove the fan cowling by turning the end towards the battery up. Be careful not to damage the fuel pipe's service port.

19. Remove the radiator.


To fit


1. Fit the radiator.

2. Fit the fan cowling. Be careful not to damage the fuel pipe's service port.


3. Fit the fan cowling bolts to the radiator.

4. Plug in the fan connectors on the fan cowling.

5. Attach the lower radiator hose and bleed hose to the radiator.

6. Fit the charge air pipe to the throttle body.


7. Fit the battery tray.


Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

Fit the fuse board.

Fit the battery.

Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 lbf ft)

Fit the battery cover.

8. Move the charge air pipe into place and fit it to the fan cowling.


9. Fit the upper radiator hose to the radiator and thermostat housing.

10. Fit the charge air hose to the charge air pipes.

11. Replace the upper engine cover.


12. Raise the car.

13. Fit the charge air hose to the charge air pipe.


14. Check that the drain cock is closed.

15. Fit the lower engine cover.

16. Fit the front spoiler shield.

17. Lower the car.

18. Add coolant to around 20 mm above the mark on the expansion tank according to specification, see Coolant .

19. Adjust the clock, SID, ACC and radio channels.
