Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
General conditions.
-
|
Fuel temperature lower than 140°C.
|
-
|
Requested fuel pressure higher than 20 MPa.

|
Diagnostics are performed when the following conditions are met for a duration of 0.2s.
-
|
Engine speed higher than 700 rpm.

Fuel injection quantity must exceed 3 mm³/C.
|
-
|
Mean calculated fuel injection quantity (per 5 combustions) must not exceed 5 mm³/C in variation.
|
Fault criteria:
-
|
When the difference between the requested and actual fuel pressure exceeds 20 MPa.

Diagnostic help
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
Read value: Fuel pressure, Requested fuel pressure.
Fault diagnosis concerns the fuel system from the pump (fuel quantity valves) via the fuel rail to the nozzles, including the fuel filter.
Malfunctions in the fuel quantity valves can generate the DTC. Other causes may be a clogged fuel line or air in the line due to leakage. In certain cases, inadequate fuel quality or the fuel filter can cause clogging.

"Read Values" menu
for more information.
Checking the wiring
Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, withdrawn pins and pin clamping force.
