On-Board Diagnostics
Type of diagnosis:
-
Once per driving cycle (performed during starter motor cranking)
Enable criteria:
General conditions
-
System voltage between 10.2 - 15.8 V
-
Fuel temperature lower than 140°C.
-
Requested fuel pressure higher than 22 MPa.
-
The following DTCs should not be detected: P0191, P0192, P0193 P0253, P0254, P0258, P0259 P1636, P1637.
Diagnostics are performed when the following conditions are met for a duration of 197s.
-
Engine speed between 100 - 600 rpm
-
Mean calculated rpm value (per 5 readings) must not exceed 100 rpm in variation.

-
Fuel quantity in the tank more than 5 L
-
Fuel injection quantity must exceed 3 mm3/C.
-
Mean calculated fuel injection quantity (per 5 combustions) must not exceed 5 mm3/C in variation.
Fault criteria:
-
When the difference between the requested and actual fuel pressure exceeds 16 MPa.
Dependents:

Diagnostic help
Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:
Read value: Fuel pressure, Requested fuel pressure.
Fault diagnosis concerns the fuel system from the pump (fuel quantity valves) via the fuel rail to the nozzles. Check the line from the tank to the pump, the fuel filter and the high pressure pipes.
Malfunctions in the fuel quantity valves or a blocked filter can generate the DTC. Other causes may be a clogged fuel line or air in the line due to leakage. In certain cases, inadequate fuel quality can cause clogging.
