Symptom: Squeaking or rattling from the right-hand side under the dashboard. The noise probably emanates from the pedal arm or pedal potentiometer.

Squeaking or rattling from the right-hand side under the dashboard. The noise probably emanates from the pedal arm or pedal potentiometer.
Conditions
The noise can arise during acceleration.
Diagnostic procedure
To remove
1.
|
Make sure the ignition is OFF.
|
2.
|
Remove the screws holding the data link connector.
|
3.
|
Remove the lower dashboard panel in front of the pedal bracket (3 screws). Tilt down the protective cover to access the pedal bracket and remove the air duct on the driver's side.

4.
|
Unplug the floor light connector.
|
5.
|
Remove the locking pins and detach the arm between the pedal potentiometer and the accelerator arm.

To fit
1.
|
Fit the intermediate arm with locking pins.
|
2.
|
Plug in the connector for the floor lighting.
|
3.
|
Fit the air duct and the lower dashboard panel.
|
4.
|
Fit the data link connector.
