Cleaning the mass air flow sensor
Cleaning the mass air flow sensor |
1. |
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
|
2. |
Remove the mass air flow sensor.
Mark the position of the sensor body. |
3. |
Remove the sensor body. Use a Torx bit T20 with centre hole (security hole). Place the sensor body on a rag to gather up any spill while cleaning.
|
4. |
Spray the sensor body with electronics cleaner 30 09 461 from above and below. Allow the fluid to act for about 1 minute. Take care, do not touch the sensor components tools or other aids.
|
5. |
Carefully blow clean the sensor body internally and externally with compressed air. Keep a distance of at least 30 cm.
|
6. |
Repeat this treatment twice.
|
7. |
Lubricate the sensor body O-ring sparingly with petroleum jelly to facilitate fitting.
|
8. |
Fit the sensor body so that it is aligned with the mark. The sensor body is calibrated for its position and must therefore be fitted in its original position.
|
9. |
Fit the mass air flow sensor with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow of air (towards the turbocharger intake). Plug in the connector.
