Diagnostic help

P0403: This DTC indicates an electrical fault in the EGR circuit. The control module uses a 50% PWM signal as a substitute value for EGR control. The control module uses a 2% PWM signal for boost pressure control. The read value on the diagnostic tool is equal to the substitute value.

P0404: This DTC indicates an electrical fault in the EGR circuit. The control module uses a 50% PWM signal as a substitute value for EGR control. The read value on the diagnostic tool is equal to the substitute value.

P1404: This DTC indicates an electrical fault in the EGR circuit. The control module uses a 50% PWM signal as a substitute value for EGR control. The read value on the diagnostic tool is equal to the substitute value.

Note

A fault in the control module female connector can cause a trouble code. Check the contact for a bent pin, oxidation and tightness of pins. See Difficult faults in PSG16 despite trouble code
