Before work begins, contact and inform the OnStar Call Centre (OCC) that a service is to be carried out on the unit.


Fault symptoms

It is not possible to contact the OnStar Call Center (OCC).

When the OnStar Services button is depressed, no connection is made to the OnStar Call Center (OCC).

Conditions

No trouble codes stored in the car for the current fault symptom.

Diagnostic help

The fault can depend on:


- The car was in an area with poor cover.

- The mobile phone network in the area was not operating.


If the "OnStar request ended" before the "white dot" button was pushed, when an "OnStar Services" call was selected:- In this case the system has been connected to the network but has not been able to maintain the connection. If this happens with several calls, contact the OnStar Technical Center.

If it is possible to carry out an "Emergency" call but not an OnStar customer service call, the fault can depend on the local section of the mobile phone network being unable to recognise the car's system.
