Engine malfunction and ESP lamp on or no diagnostic function for heater or ESP
|
Saab 9-5 M05 with engine alternative D223L equipped with auxiliary heater and with Vehicle Identification Number within the range 53500001 - 53517988.
Engine malfunction, Vehicle Identification Number 53500001 - 53505124
The engine is hesitant or provides weaker torque for a short time and the ESP lamp in the main instrument unit comes on. This is caused by static electricity discharging that interferes with ESP8. The static electricity arises in a fuel line and continues to the ESP control module via the wiring harness and the heater.
No diagnostic function for heater, Vehicle Identification Number 53500001 - 53505124
In order to avoid engine malfunction in accordance with the above, pin no. 5 has been disconnected on certain cars in the heater control module connector but this has also broken the diagnostic communication with Tech2.
No diagnostic function for ESP, Vehicle Identification Number 53505124 - 53517988
In order to avoid engine malfunction in accordance with the above, a 2-pin connector with dummy plug has been fitted on the front electrical harness to the ESP control module but this has also broken the diagnostic communication with Tech2.
In the case of customer complaint the following procedures must be carried out.
