Seat frame

To remove


1. Remove the front seat from the car, see Front seat .

2. Manual front seat: Remove the height adjustment lever (A) and the backrest adjustment knob (B).

Note

When removing the adjustment knob the backrest rake axle can come out with the knob.



3. Remove the upper seat cowl, 2 covers and 3 screws (C).

Electrically adjustable seat: There is a protective cap on the tip of the front screw. Keep this cap safe and refit it to the screw to prevent damage to the electrical cables.

Bend up the rear edge of the cowl and pull it forwards.

4. Electrically adjustable front seat: Unplug the connector (A) for the switch and memory buttons (B), if any.

Remove the lower seat cowl, 2 screws.


5. Remove the plastic covers (B) on each side of the backrest joint.

The plastic covers conceal the holes for access to the screws holding the seat at the rear.


6. Undo the seat cushion at the rear, 2 screws (A).

The screws are inside the holes concealed by the removed plastic covers.

7. Undo the seat cushion at the front, 2 screws (C).

8. Undo the straps holding the bottom of the backrest upholstery (D).

9. Cut the cable ties. Unplug and mark the connectors.

Lift out the seat.

10. Remove the backrest, 2 screws each side.

11. Remove the seatbelt buckle, 1 screw and cable ties (E).


To fit


1. Fit the backrest, 2 screws each side.

2. Lift back the seat cushion, screw 2 screws (C) into the front edge.


3. Screw 2 screws (A) into the seat cushion's rear edge.

The screws are inside the holes concealed by the plastic covers.

4. Screw 2 screws (C) into the seat cushion's front edge.

5. Plug in all connectors and secure the wiring harness under the seat cushion with cable ties.

6. Fit the seatbelt buckle, 1 screw and cable ties (E).

7. Secure the straps holding the bottom of the backrest upholstery (D).

8. Fit the plastic covers (B) on each side of the backrest joint.


9. Fit the lower seat cowl, 2 screws.

10. Manual front seat: Fit the upper seat cowl, 3 screws and 2 covers (C).


11. Fit the height adjustment lever (A) and backrest adjustment knob (B).

12. Electrically adjustable front seat: Plug back in the connector (A) for the switch and memory buttons (B), if any.

Fit the upper seat cowl, 3 screws and 2 covers (C). Unplug the connector (A) for the switch and memory buttons (B), if any.

Important

Refit the cover on the tip of the front screw to prevent chafing on the electrical cables.


13. Fit the front seat into the car, see Front seat .


Note

If required, removing the backrest upholstery can make it easier to position the backrest rake axle. Check that the backrest upholstery is not pinched between the cowl and the backrest. The upholstery should lie over the axle.
