DICE uses the following information

Information

Value/Units

Off

The value is dependent on the following sensor input, signal or function

LH rear light

ON/OFF

TWICE

The control module input is supplied with current from the light switch. DICE uses the information for the instrument lighting.

RH rear light

ON/OFF

TWICE

The control module input is supplied with current from the light switch. DICE uses the information for the instrument lighting.

Driver's door

OPEN/CLOSED

TWICE

Door switch. DICE uses the information to turn on/off the interior lighting.

Passenger's door

OPEN/CLOSED

TWICE

Door switch. DICE uses the information to turn on/off the interior lighting.

LH Rear Door

OPEN/CLOSED

TWICE

Door switch. DICE uses the information to turn on/off the interior lighting.

RH Rear Door

OPEN/CLOSED

TWICE

Door switch. DICE uses the information to turn on/off the interior lighting.

Boot lid

OPEN/CLOSED

TWICE

Door switch. DICE uses the information to turn on/off the luggage compartment lighting.

Hazard warning lights

ON/OFF

TWICE

Anti-theft alarm function and central locking function. DICE uses the information to activate/deactivate the hazard flashers for the car's anti-theft alarm.

A/C

ON/OFF

ACC

AUTO selected and outside temperature (bus from SID). DICE uses the information to turn on/off the car's A/C function.

Electrically heated rear window

ON/OFF

ACC

ACC sends A/C (ON/OFF).

ON is sent when ECON is not selected, outside temperature exceeds 5°C and fan speed is lowest. This value is used by DICE. Note that there are several excluding conditions in DICE.

Note: Because the outside temperature value is not permitted to rise unless vehicle speed exceeds 30 km/h, A/C will not be requested if the outside temperature was under 5°C before the car was driven into the workshop (See activation: Outside temperature 20°C).

Rheostat level

0-100%

SID

Rheostat control module input. DICE uses the information to control the brightness of the instrument and control lighting.

Rheostat Night Panel

0-100%

SID

Rheostat control module input, reduced internally by a fixed value. DICE uses the information to control the brightness of button illumination when NIGHT PANEL is active.

Night panel

YES/NO

SID

Button. DICE uses the information on whether NIGHT PANEL is activated or deactivated.

Display lighting

0-100%

SID

Rheostat control module input or light sensor. DICE uses the information to control the brightness of the display.

Ambient Temperature

°C

SID

Outside temperature sensor, control module adjustment. DICE uses the information to control the radiator fan and A/C.

Engine has started

ON/OFF

Trionic (petrol) ECM (diesel)

Crankshaft sensor. DICE uses the information to control the radiator fans.

Coolant temperature

-40-215°C

Trionic (petrol) ECM (diesel)

Engine coolant temperature sensor. DICE uses the information to control the radiator fan and A/C systems.

Wheel speed RL

0-300 km/h

ESP

RL wheel speed sensor.

RHD

YES/NO

Washer fluid level low

YES/NO

SID

The washer fluid level sensor. DICE will not start the headlamp washer pump if the fluid level is low.

DICE sends the following information

Information

Value/Units

Used by

The value is dependent on the following sensor input, signal or function

A/C request

ON/OFF

Trionic (petrol) ECM (diesel)

DICE transmits the A/C request, unit ON/OFF. This value is used in air mass regulation, compensation, to compensate for increased load. The control module also activates the A/C relay.

A/C pressure, high-pressure side

0-30 bar

Trionic (petrol) ECM (diesel)

DICE transmits the pressure, unit bar. This value is used in air mass regulation, compensation, to calculate load increase before the A/C compressor is activated.

Current consumption

A

Trionic (petrol) ECM (diesel)

DICE transmits the estimated current consumption of the electrically heated rear window and radiator fan just before they are activated, unit A. This value is used in air mass regulation, compensation, to compensate for load increase.

Reverse gear selected

YES/NO

PMM, Trionic, SPA

DICE sends reverse gear selected, unit ON/OFF. This value is used by the engine control system to determine if first gear or reverse gear is engaged as the gear ratio does not sufficiently differentiate between these gears. PMM uses this information to set the rear-view mirror and door mirrors.

Position lights

ON/OFF

MIU, SID

Rear light RH or LH (bus value from TWICE). MIU uses the information to turn on/off the marker light indicator on the main instrument panel.

Rear fog light

ON/OFF

MIU

Activation by the control module of the output to the fog light. MIU uses the information to turn on/off the rear fog light indicator on the main instrument panel.

LH direction indicators repeater

ON/OFF

MIU, SID

Activation by the control module of the output to the lamps. MIU uses the information to indicate activated LH direction indicators with control lamp on the main instrument panel.

SID uses the information for acoustic indication of activated direction indicators “tick-tack”.

RH direction indicators repeater

ON/OFF

MIU, SID

Activation by the control module of the output to the lamps. MIU uses the information to indicate activated RH direction indicators with control lamp on the main instrument panel.

SID uses the information for acoustic indication of activated direction indicators “tick-tack”.

Rear fog light faulty

YES/NO

SID

Control module current measurement of the output to the fog lamp. SID uses the information to display CHECK messages.

Acoustic warning

Acoustic information

SID

Control module programming, seat belt switch and driver/passenger door open (bus from TWICE). SID uses the information to generate an acoustic warning.

Electrically heated rear window, confirmation

ON/OFF

ACC

Control module activation of relay output to rear window heater. ACC uses the information to confirm that the rear window heating is active.

When ON, the button's symbol shows in the display.

VIN

VIN

Audio

Control module programming. Audio uses the information for the system's anti-theft protection.

Ignition +B

ON/OFF
