Courtesy lights
Courtesy lights |
The courtesy lighting is located along the bottom edge of the front doors. If the ignition switch is in the OFF position (key withdrawn), the lamps come on when one of the front doors is opened. The courtesy lighting stays on for 20 minutes (if a door is left open), after which it is turned off automatically. The lamps go out if the doors are closed.
If the ignition switch is in the ON position (+15 or +54), the courtesy lighting remains on until both front doors are closed.
The DICE is fed with +30 for the courtesy lighting. When the DICE is notified by the bus, it switches the courtesy lighting on or off. I.e. the DICE supplies +30 or cuts the feed from pin 1 on the control module to the bulbs for the courtesy lighting.
Diagnosis |
The output is provided with overload protection which shuts it off in the event of an excessive load. When this occurs, diagnostic trouble code B1240 will be generated.
DTCs are not generated if the voltage is below 11 V, or during diagnostic communication, or in case of interruption.
Important | ||
All lamp outputs are protected by short-circuiting. |
||
Do not change to lamps of a higher wattage, since the outputs are not made to withstand a permanent overload. |
||
If the wattage goes unduly high the short-circuit protection will immediately trip. |
