Parking lights

Parking lights

The parking lights are on whatever the position of the ignition switch when the light switch is in position 1. They also go on when the main lighting is on.

To enable DICE to determine what position (0-1-2) the light switch (10) is set to, the control module uses information from TWICE and its own pin connection.

TWICE, which operates the parking lights, puts information onto the bus (ON/OFF). The ON message corresponds to switch position 1. The OFF message corresponds to position 1 or 2.

DICE pin 39 is connected to light switch pin 6, which corresponds to position 0. DICE pin 15 is connected to light switch pin 11, which corresponds to position 2.

The front parking lights are powered directly and the rear are powered via TWICE, which monitors the rear parking light bulbs.

Power from the switch (10) is fed via fuses 3 and 4 to the TWICE pins 23 and 46 respectively.

The rear parking lights get their power from pin 45 and pin 68, each through its own resistor inside TWICE. The control module measures the voltage drop across these resistors and thus determines the current that is passing through TWICE to each parking-light circuit. The LH parking-light circuit goes in on pin 23 and out on pin 45. The RH parking-light circuit goes in on pin 46 and out on pin 68.
