Tailgate 5D
Tailgate 5D |
The tailgate has two gas lift springs. The gas springs are located on each side of the tailgate aperture between the roof and the headlining. They are attached to ball joints on the hinges and the roof. If an air spring comes loose, e.g. during a collision, the front attachments are protected to prevent the air spring from falling down or being thrown forward in the car.
The tailgate is unlocked electrically by pressing the button for opening the boot lid/tailgate on the remote control or with the switch located in the driver's door.
The switch in the driver's door will not work when the car has been locked from the outside, if TSL (Theft Security Lock) is active or when the vehicle speed exceeds 4 km/h. For more information on the tailgate central locking system, see .
