Oil pump seal ring, replacement

To remove


1. Remove the timing belt. See Timing belt (in situ) .

2. Remove the timing belt gear using 32 025 006 Crankshaft holder together with 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft pulley .

Note

The bolt is left-threaded.



3. Remove the oil pump seal ring by prising it out of the oil pump with a suitable tool. Make sure that the sealing surfaces are not damaged.

4. Clean the sealing surfaces.


To fit


1. Moisten the gasket's seal lip with a little silicone paste (white) and fit the oil pump seal ring. Use 32 025 014 Fitting tool, oil pump seal .


2. Fasten the timing belt gear to 32 025 006 Crankshaft holder .

3. Fit the timing belt gear using 32 025 006 Crankshaft holder together with 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft pulley .

Tightening torque: 340 Nm (251 lbf ft)

4. Remove the special tools.

5. Fit the timing belt. See Timing belt (in situ) .

6. Check the engine oil level. Top up as necessary. See Recommended oil grade .
