Information display (MIU)

The information display is a part of the main instrument unit and is located in the lower section of the speedometer.

The information display is used by the SID control module which via the bus informs the main instrument unit as to what is to be shown on the display.

The following information can be shown on the information display:



- Symbols (A)

- Trip computer information (B)

- Odometer and trip meter (C)

- Check messages (B+C)

- Units and languages (B+C)

- Parking heater ON/OFF (B+C)

- Information from ACC (B+C)


When there are several simultaneous check messages a (+) symbol appears in the (A) symbol field. Symbols with a lower priority are displayed with reduced size in the (A) symbol field so that a symbol with high priority can be simultaneously shown full size.

The following symbols can be shown in the (A) symbol field of the information display.


- Door indication, indicates if any of the doors or the tailgate is open.

- ESP, shows when the ESP is active.

- SHIFT-UP, the symbol is displayed when it is advisable to change up to a higher gear (certain markets).

- Indicator, engine preheating on the SID, the symbol shows that the engine must be preheated, fitted to cars with a diesel engine.

- SPORT, indicates to the driver that the SPORT mode is active. This is fitted to cars with automatic transmission.

- Selector lever position indicator, indicates the selected gear position on cars with automatic transmission.
