Service programming (SPS) of TCM
|
When reprogramming TCM, follow the instructions below carefully to obtain a good result.
1.

Connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector and turn the ignition ON.
|
2.
|
Start the diagnostic tool and select: Service Programming (SPS).
|
3.
|
Select: Request Information.
|
4.
|
Then select:
Model year
Car type
Group
Car system
|
5.
|
Then follow the instructions given in the diagnostic tool.
|
6.
|
Disconnect the diagnostic tool from the car and connect it to the COM port of a computer (flat cable). TIS 2000 must be installed on the computer.

7.
|
Check to see whether there is any software in the computer that is newer than the software in TCM. If so, download it to the diagnostic tool.

8.
|
Disconnect the diagnostic tool from the computer and reconnect it to the car.
Note

Check that the car battery is in good condition, turn off all heavy current consumers:
|
- ACC
|
- Lights
|
|
9.
|
Cars equipped with TCS or ESP
: Remove fuse 29.
|
10.
|
Turn the ignition ON.
|
11.
|
Start the diagnostic tool and select: Service Programming (SPS).
|
12.
|
Select: Program Control Module.
|
13.
|
Follow the directions on the diagnostic tool.
|
14.
|
Wait until programming is complete. This will take about 20 minutes.
|
15.
|
When the programming has finished: Turn the ignition OFF.
|
16.
|
Cars equipped with TCS or ESP
: Fit fuse 29.
|
17.
|
Check whether any diagnostic trouble codes have been set. Rectify any trouble codes according to the fault diagnosis in WIS.
|
18.
|
Turn the ignition ON. Check the function of all the warning lamps in MIU. Start the engine and press in the TCS/ESP switch, the ESP OFF warning lamp will then come on. Press in the TCS/ESP switch again and the ESP OFF warning lamp will go out.
