Raise the car.

Place an oil pan under the transmission to collect fluid spill.

3. |
Remove the banjo screw for the return line and plug the hole. Use e.g. plug, part no. 91 32 929, and seal, part no. 91 32 937.

Lower the car to the floor.

5. |
Remove the pipes' bracket from the fan cowling.
|
6. |
Remove the bypass pipe and valve.
Remove the upper banjo bolt. |
7. |
Unplug the connectors from the radiator fans. Undo the clip securing the hose to the expansion tank. Remove the screws and lift out the complete fan cowling.

Remove the lower banjo bolt.
|
9. |
Lift away the return pipe.

Change the seals in the banjo bolts. |

Place the return pipe in its correct position.
|
2. |
Fit the banjo bolt but do not tighten it.
|
3. |
Fit the fan cowling and tighten the screws.
|
4. |
Plug in the connectors to the radiator fans. Fit the clips securing the hose to the expansion tank. Fit the upper banjo nipple loosely.

5. |
Fit the fasteners to the fan cowling and tighten them. Tighten the upper and lower banjo screws.
Tightening torque 24 Nm (18 lbf ft) |
6. |
Fit the bypass pipe and valve.

7. |
Raise the car.
|
8. |
Fit the banjo bolt on the transmission and tighten it.
Tightening torque 24 Nm (18 lbf ft) |
9. |
Lower the car to the floor.
|

Fill with transmission fluid to the correct level. See
