When driving in extremely dirty environments or for allergenic reasons, we recommend changing the fresh air filter at shorter intervals.
| Removing | 
| 1. | Remove fuse 22. | |
| 2. | Remove
        
         Glove box
        
        and side trim on centre console.   | |
| 3. | Cut off the cable ties securing the wiring harness to the service cover. Cut also the cable tie holding the cooler hose to the glove box. | |
| 4. | Remove the service hatch bolts. Fold up the service hatch.   | |
| 5. | Remove the fresh-air filter and filter element or particle filter. | |
| 7. | Cars with retrofitted A/C:
        
        Break off the plastic lugs on top of the filter. | |
| 8. | Clean the filter housing. | |
| 9. | Cars with A/C:
        
        
         Clean the drainage hoses

| Fitting | 
| 1. | Fit the filter according to the instruction on top of the filter.   | |
| 2. | Fit the service cover. | |
| 3. | Fasten the wiring harness and cooling hose with cable ties. | |
| 4. | Fit the side trim on the centre console and
        
         Glove box
        
        .   | |
| 5. | Fit fuse 22. | |
