Particle filter/rear catalytic converter

Particle filter/rear catalytic converter

To remove


1. Undo the clamp and remove the rear exhaust system.


2. Detach the hose for pressure drop measurement from the particle filter/rear catalytic converter.

Important

Be careful not to damage the sensor.



3. Remove the temperature sensor (602R).

4. Remove the three nuts connecting the particle filter/rear catalytic converter to the front exhaust pipe.

5. Remove the rear mounting of the particle filter/rear catalytic converter from the body and lower the particle filter/rear catalytic converter.


6. Remove the mounting from the particle filter/rear catalytic converter.


To fit


1. Fit the mounting to the particle filter/rear catalytic converter.


2. Position the particle filter/rear catalytic converter and use a new gasket. Fit the rear mounting to the body.

3. Fit the three nuts connecting the particle filter/rear catalytic converter to the front exhaust pipe.

Tightening torque: 25 Nm (18 lbf ft)

Important

Be careful during assembly so that the sensor is not damaged.



4. Lubricate the temperature sensor threads with 90 513 210 Universal paste and fit the temperature sensor.

Tightening torque: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft)

5. Attach the hose for pressure drop measurement to the particle filter/rear catalytic converter. Check that the protective sleeve covers the connection.

6. Fit the rear exhaust system and tighten the clamp.


7. If a new catalytic converter has been fitted : Connect the diagnostic tool to restore adaptation values.
