Fuel pressure regulator

Warning

Removal of the fuel pressure regulator involves partial dismantling of the car's fuel system. The following points must therefore be observed in connection with this work:

Work only in a well-ventilated area! If approved equipment for the extraction of fuel vapour is available then make sure it is used.

Wear protective gloves! Prolonged contact with fuel can cause skin irritation.

Keep a class BE fire extinguisher close by! Be mindful of the danger of sparks caused by short circuits and when connecting and disconnecting leads in electrical circuits.

Smoking is strictly forbidden.

Wear protective goggles.


To remove


Important

Remove out fuse 19 while the engine is idling to minimize any remaining fuel pressure. Turn off the ignition when the engine has stopped.



1. Unplug the connectors to the oxygen sensor and crankshaft position sensor.

2. Detach the vacuum hose.

3. Remove the bolt and open the clamp.

4. Gently work loose the pressure regulator.


To fit


Fit in reverse order.


1. Fit the pressure regulator.

2. Fit the clamp and tighten the screw.

3. Fit the vacuum hose.

4. Plug in the connectors to the oxygen sensor and crankshaft position sensor.

5. Fit fuse 19.

6. Clear diagnostic trouble codes.

7. Start the engine and check for any fuel leaks.


Important

Lubricate the O-ring with acid-proof vaseline before fitting it.
