On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:

-	Continuous. But interrupted when fault criteria fulfilled and will not restart until next driving cycle.

Enable criteria:

-	Engine running.

Fault criteria:

-	The temperature should change 2°C after driving for 1 minute at 60 km/h and then 0 km/h for 45 seconds.

Dependents:

-	P0112, P0113

System reaction to a fault:

-	Substitute value set to 40°C.

OK report:

-	The temperature should change 2°C. The fault criteria for P0112 and P0113 are not fulfilled.

Diagnostic help

Fault diagnosis concerns an electrical fault in connecting leads or in the sensor.

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:

•	Temperature sensor reading, in °C.

Check the wiring

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, withdrawn pins and pin clamping force.
