Diagnostic help

The car is driven and cruise control engaged while checking the conditions for cruise control with the diagnostic tool. Start fault diagnosis on the condition that cannot be fulfilled.

The diagnostic tool contains a group of readings entitled ”REASON CC WAS SWITCHED OFF”. The values are from the latest occasion cruise control was working and shows the reason it was disengaged. They are stored as long as the control module is energized and are therefore suitable for locating intermittent faults.

Functions in the diagnostic tool related to the fault:

Cruise A, unit ON/OFF.

Cruise B, unit ON/OFF.

Cruise C, unit ON/OFF.

Clutch or Brake Switch, unit ON/OFF.

Brake light, unit ON/OFF.

Vehicle speed (lead from ABS, alternatively bus from TC/ABS.), unit km/h.

Vehicle Speed (Bus from MIU), unit km/h.

All values in group ”CONDITIONS FOR CRUISE CONTROL”.

All values in group ”REASON CC WAS SWITCHED OFF”.

See also the description of readings in ”Fault diagnosis, general” for more information.

Checking the wiring

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
