Injectors
Injectors |
The injectors must not be rotated; the connector must be pointing straight up. Otherwise, the fuel jets will hit the walls of the intake passages, which will affect emissions and driveability. The injectors are identical on all 4-cyl engines.
The injectors are supplied with current from the main relay, while the control module grounds them as follows:
• |
Injector 1 is controlled from pin 45.
|
• |
Injector 2 is controlled from pin 44.
|
• |
Injector 3 is controlled from pin 67.
|
• |
Injector 4 is controlled from pin 68.
|
The microprocessor controls the transistor in the firing order so that injection is completed just as the inlet valve in the cylinder in question opens.
Diagnosis |
• |
If there is an open circuit or short circuit to ground or B+ on any of the injectors, diagnostic trouble code P1676 will be generated.
|
System reaction to a fault
• |
Closed loop control system blocked.
