Removal |
1. |
Unplug the negative battery cable.

2. |
Remove the upper engine cover and the sound insulation.
|
3. |
Remove the upper starter motor bolts.
|
4. |
Remove the bracket from the coolant pipe and the positive cable clamp.
|
5. |
Remove the starter motor connecting cables.
|
6. |
Raise the car.
|
7. |
Remove the lower engine cover.
|
8. |
Remove the lower starter motor bolt.
|
9. |
Lower the starter motor and lift it out.

Refitting |
Note | ||
Ensure that the guide sleeve is in place in the middle bolt hole of the starter motor. |

Lift the starter motor into place and fit the lower bolt.
Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 lbf ft) |
2. |
Fit the lower engine cover.
|
3. |
Lower the car.
|
4. |
Fit the starter motor connecting cables.
|
5. |
Fit the coolant pipe bracket and the positive cable clamp, fit the nuts.
|
6. |
Fit the upper starter motor bolts.
Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 lbf ft) |
7. |
Tighten the bracket nuts.
|
8. |
Fit the sound insulation and the upper engine cover.
|
9. |
Fit the negative battery cable.
|
10. |
Reset the car, see
