SLU solenoid valve for lock-up
SLU solenoid valve for lock-up |
Solenoid valve SLU is located in the valve body, which is mounted on the gearbox. The solenoid control the torque converter lock-up, which means that when it is activated, power transmission will take place mechanically through the torque converter. The solenoid also controls the slipping function in the lock-up.
The solenoid is connected to pin 25 (B) on the control module, which activates the solenoid by supplying B+. The solenoid is grounded via pin 12 (B). At zero current, the valve is open.
The control module activates the Lock-up function in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear depending upon accelerator position and vehicle speed. Slipping Lock-up is permitted in 4th and 5th gears.
The Lock-up function is disengaged if:
• |
The transmission fluid temperature is below 20°C.
|
• |
Slipping Lock-up is deactivated if the transmission temperature is lower than 40°C and higher than 120°C.
|
The nominal resistance of the winding in the solenoid is 3.5 ohms.
