| Brake caliper, front | 
| 1. | 
       Raise the car and remove the wheel.
        | 
     |
| 2. | 
       Press in the brake piston with a pair of slip-joint pliers.
        | 
     |
| 3. | 
       Depress the brake pedal slightly, using a brake pedal clamp.
        
       
        | 
     |
| 4. | 
       Remove fuse number 1.
        | 
     |
| 5. | 
       Detach the brake hose from the brake caliper. Plug the hose and the caliper.
        
       
        | 
     |
| 6. | 
       Remove the two brake caliper retaining bolts and lift off the caliper.
        | 
     |
| To fit | 
   
   | 1. | 
       Fit the brake caliper in place. Apply
       
        74 96 268 Thread locking adhesive
       
       and tighten the two retaining bolts.
        Tightening torque: 140 Nm +45° (103 lbf ft 45°)  | 
     |
| 2. | 
       Fit the brake hose to the brake caliper and tighten to torque.
        Tightening torque 40 Nm (29 lbf ft) 
  |

| 3. | 
       Remove the brake pedal clamp and put back the fuse.
        Bleed the brake system, see Bleeding the brake system .  |

| 4. | 
       Fit the wheel; see

        Tightening torques aluminium wheel 110 Nm (81 lbf ft) steel wheel 50 Nm +2x90°, max. 110 Nm (37 lbf ft +2x90°, max. 81 lbf ft)  | 
     |
| 5. | 
       Lower the car and depress the brake pedal to press out the brake pistons. Check the brake fluid level and top up as necessary.
